Job Type: Independent ContractorQualificationsWe are currently seeking inspector applicants who are qualified to work in the USA and have a history of direct experience completing commercial line inspections and/or have completed a training course such as, the VIITA Basic Commercial Line Inspector course or its equivalent.Full Job Description of the Loss Control Inspector:· Receives assignments electronically and reviews for inspection requirements.· Schedules the inspection appointment with the Insured by phone, email, or text.· Inspects the property for potential issues or hazards pertaining to utilities/building systems (heating, wiring, plumbing), common areas, maintenance, protections, and life safety, etc. Take 20-35 exterior/interior photos. Take measurements with a measuring wheel or with online tools as needed.· Interviews the Insured for operations information, ages of the building systems, etc.· Communicates inspection status through online application.· Completes the inspection report on the web-based Loss Control 360 system with Rapid Sketch. Job Description XCEL NDT is seeking a Mechanical Integrity (MI) Assistant to support Mechanical Integrity inspections by assisting API inspectors and NDE technicians, primarily ultrasonic testing (UT) personnel. This role is responsible for providing field support during inspections, helping with data collection, equipment setup, and general inspection activities in industrial environments. The MI Assistant position is an entry-level role designed for individuals interested in building experience in mechanical integrity, inspection services, and nondestructive testing. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and eager to learn while working alongside experienced inspectors and technicians. Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Assist API inspectors during in-service, shutdown, and turnaround inspections</li><li>Support UT technicians with equipment setup, surface preparation, and access coordination</li><li>Help collect thickness readings and inspection data under direct supervision</li><li>Perform basic measurement, cleaning, and surface prep activities as required</li><li>Set up scaffolding access, coordinate lifts, and assist with safe access to inspection areas</li><li>Maintain inspection tools and equipment and ensure proper handling and storage</li><li>Accurately record field notes and inspection data as directed</li><li>Follow all XCEL NDT safety policies and site-specific safety requirements</li><li>Work in industrial environments including refineries, petrochemical plants, and manufacturing facilities</li><li>Travel to client sites and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends during outages </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or GED required</li><li>Prior industrial, construction, or inspection support experience preferred</li><li>Interest in mechanical integrity, inspection, or NDE as a career path</li><li>Ability to work safely in industrial environments, including climbing, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions</li><li>Willingness to learn and follow direction from API inspectors and NDE technicians</li><li>Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools</li><li>Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn documentation and data collection practices</li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to meet site-specific safety and access requirements</li><li>Ability to pass required safety training, drug screening, and background checks </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Previous experience assisting UT technicians or inspectors</li><li>Familiarity with refinery or petrochemical facilities</li><li>Enrollment in or interest in NDT certification programs</li><li>Basic computer or tablet skills for electronic data entry </li></ul>
