Position Overview:
UES is seeking a Federal Business DevelopmentManager to spearhead our strategic expansion within the Florida federal landscape. We aren’t looking for a traditional account manager; we are looking for a market architect—a high-level strategist with the technical acumen to deliver engineering-based solutions and the professional influence required to navigate complex federal capture cycles. This role is designed for a highly motivated closer who possesses a proven track record of cultivating high-value AEC Prime partnerships and driving aggressive revenue growth.  At UES, you won’t just be a part of a team—you will be the primary driver of our federal mission in Florida, defining your career within a rapidly growing organization that has the resources to back your ambition!

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute account plans for major Federal and Military spenders, specifically USACE (Jacksonville District), NAVFAC, AFCEC, DHS, and the VA.</li><li>Market Penetration: Drive regional market penetration and account saturation within the Florida federal landscape, positioning UES as a preferred partner on major pursuits.</li><li>Strategic Capture & Teaming: Lead the end-to-end pursuit of new business by leveraging AEC Prime relationships and balancing direct federal wins with strategic teaming partnerships</li><li>Market Presence & Engagement: Maintain high visibility across the Florida landscape through consistent engagement with regional offices, job sites, and industry hubs; ensure UES remains at the forefront of the federal AEC community through active participation in key regional events and client meetings.</li><li>Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to Prime partners and federal customers, facilitating collaboration between external stakeholders and internal UES technical teams.</li><li>Regulatory & Contract Expertise: Maintain expert-level knowledge of FAR/DFARS, federal contract vehicles (GSA, GWACs, IDCs, OTAs), and Category Management.</li><li>Performance Tracking: Analyze and report on business development activities, pipeline health, and sales forecasts to regional and executive leadership.</li></ul>#LI-CM1

Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a related field preferred.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of prior sales and business development experience, preferably in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.</li><li>Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required; relevant industry certifications preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.</li><li>Strong relationship-building, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</li><li>Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.</li><li>Proficient in basic math and data analysis to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.</li><li>Solid understanding of the construction industry and related regulatory environment.</li></ul>

Preferred Qualifications:
<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, Archaeology, Biology, or a related field.</li><li>Experience:5+ years of business development experience leading Federal Pursuits within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) or related industries.</li><li>Regional Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the Florida-based federal and military ecosystem (e.g., USACE Jacksonville District and Florida-based military installations).</li><li>Partnership Track Record: Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with major AEC Prime Contractors on federal projects.</li><li>Procurement Expertise: Deep expertise in U.S. federal procurement practices and acquisition regulations (including federal small business programs and set-asides).</li><li>Contracting Knowledge: Expert knowledge of contract vehicles (FSS, GWACs, IDCs, OTAs) and federal funding cycles.</li></ul>

Travel Requirements:
<ul><li>This position requires approximately 20-40% travel throughout Florida for industry events and client meetings. Candidates must be prepared to adhere to all company safety protocols and utilize appropriate PPE during travel and on-site visits.</li></ul>

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
<ul><li>This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.</li><li>The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.</li><li>The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.</li><li>The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.</li></ul>
