Responsible for procuring MRO type items including consumables, repair, and maintenance items. Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to)<ul><li>Prepare written inquiries or obtain verbal quotes for vendor-supplied items in compliance with requisitions and/or specifications.</li><li>Receive vendor bids, evaluate bids considering price, delivery date, past performance of vendor, etc. to determine successful bidder.</li><li>Negotiate terms/ conditions of and place purchase orders and subcontracts within parameters provided by team.</li><li>Prepare and maintain all required documentation for each purchase order. Expedite awarded purchase orders when necessary to insure timely delivery.</li><li>Reconcile invoice problems with vendor and accounting, and delivery requirements with vendor and supervision.</li><li>Help administer the preparation and maintenance of all required documentation for each purchase order. </li><li>Assist with the reconciling of orders, receipts, and such into Construction and Accounting Software systems.</li><li>Professional, service-oriented, long-term solution driven communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external clients.</li><li>Able to work independently and make decisions that benefit the company.</li><li>Must have professional presentation and interpersonal skills over the phone and in person.</li><li>Understand and adhere to non-Disclosure requirements to appropriately maintain confidentiality.</li><li>Manage clarifications to support accurate purchase in terms of what is needed, when the order is needed at best value compliant to requirements.</li><li>Prioritize requests to complete purchasing with corresponding requirements, timeframe, and </li><li style="line-height:normal">Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Strong analytical and organizational skills.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.</li></ul> Job Duties<ul><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Assisting the buyer with the selection of the right product mix.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Writing, placing, and tracking purchase orders.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification, at competitive price within acceptable risk.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Negotiating with vendors and building positive, project team oriented, long-term relationships.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Researching new sources to expand vendor database and making recommendations to the buyer.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Preparing competitive retail and pricing strategies.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Planning, monitoring, and maintaining suitable inventory levels.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Preparing budgets and forecasting purchasing trends.</li><li style="color:#2c3241;line-height:normal">Compiling reports on product performance and statistics.</li></ul> Work Experience, Education, Certifications and Licenses <ul><li>Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, and policies.</li><li>Able to negotiate effectively with vendors in a manner that benefits the company and preserves the vendor relationship.</li><li>Proficient in MS Office Suite</li><li>3+ years construction purchasing experience.</li><li>Bachelor's degree (technical or business) or equivalent combination of education and related procurement experience.</li></ul> Physical Requirements<ul><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Climb stairs</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Sit for long periods of time</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate object</li></ul> Environment: Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site and weather conditions also occurs.
