Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Perform general ultrasound and vascular ultrasound procedures according to physician orders and imaging protocols.</li><li>Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images for interpretation by radiologists.</li><li>Position patients and operate ultrasound equipment to obtain optimal scans.</li><li>Process, review, and transmit images to PACS for storage and physician review.</li><li>Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.</li><li>Ensure patient safety, comfort, and compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.</li><li>Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare staff to support quality patient care.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
1. RDMS (ARDMS) or S (ARRT) certification in at least one body or region required upon hire and maintained. 2. Graduate an accredited ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation upon hire. 3. Previous one (1) year experience required. 4. Current BCLS certificate required upon hire and maintain current. 5. Proficient computer skills

Department: Diagnostic Imaging / Radiology Employment Type: Full-TimeHospital: Central Maine Medical CenterLocation: Lewiston, ME The Ultrasound Technologist / Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) performs high-quality general and vascular ultrasound examinations to support accurate medical diagnosis. This role demonstrates competency in producing technical and diagnostic sonographic images for physician interpretation. The technologist properly positions patients and ultrasound equipment, ensures patient safety and comfort, and is responsible for processing, documenting, and transmitting images to PACS in accordance with diagnostic imaging standards.

Responsibilities:

Uses ultrasound to visualize internal cardiac structures, obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricle and left atrium and visualize blood flow.  Assists the physician with complex ultrasound procedures.  Promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Department through the appropriate utilization and management of all clerical functions within the department document handling and disposition, interpersonal relationships and information gathering and dispersion.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.  Completion of Echocardiogram program within 90 days of hire or equivalent training required2.  Current BCLS certificate upon hire and maintain current required3.  Able to assist physician with TEE testing required4.  Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred5.  Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred6.  Effective July 1, 2017 ARDMS or CCI Required within 90 days of hire7.  Proficient computer skills.
