QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background • 25 years of age required per FMCSA regulations (2 years driving experience required) • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License • Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse • Must reside within 50 miles of the domiciled terminal and/or work assignment • Must be able to drive a tractor trailer for a period of time that will conform to FMCSA requirements • Stable employment history preferred • Must pass a road test • Ability to meet the FMCSA's requirements to speak and read English • Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, and hot weather • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct • Must be able to interact well with others • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • Post trip inspection reports at end of shift • Complete and sign E logs at end of shift • Complete daily housekeeping, cleaning and trash removal from cab of truck at the end of every shift • Check in with dispatcher prior to leaving for the day • Meet delivery schedules • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts • Input "macros" into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions • Must adhere to all FMCSA requirements of those holding a Commercial Driver's License • Will not be allowed to handle hazmat loads in any quantity • Ensure security of equipment and cargo • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer prior to each trip and at the end of each trip • Maintains thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude and provides professional and courteous service to our customers, fellow employees and to the general public • Other duties as assigned.
