The ANM functions as an extension of the nurse manager for areas of responsibility with accountability for care delivery, working closely with Nurse Managers, educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists to direct all patient care and staffing activities. He/she ensures effective daily operations of the nursing unit(s) by monitoring all activities necessary to provide consistent, high quality patient care, including staffing, equipment, supplies and services.
