Responsibilities of the APP position include primary patient care, including being a surgical first assistant; care of hospitalized neurosurgical patients in the Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units, neurosurgical floor, neurosurgery clinic, and evaluating new consultations in the hospital and emergency department. § Admitting patients to the hospital - either direct admit from an outside hospital or from the ED, performing history and physical exam, patient assessment, ordering appropriate labs, diagnostic studies, and radiology tests, and follow up and formulation of treatment plan of the ordered lab, studies, and tests.
