Job Description Title: CNC Machine Operator (Computer Numerical Control) "This position includes a sign-on bonus of $3K". Key Accountabilities: 1. Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840 D Controllers according to instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, plans and diagrams. 2. Study machining instructions, routings, control plans, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, complex machine setups, and tooling requirements. 3. Select the appropriate tools, and materials to be used in preparation of cubic engine components. 4. Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. 5. Check precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, fixed and telescoping gauges, templates and fixtures, and adjust according to quality control plans. 6. Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences. 8. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. 9. Maintain industrial machines within the scope of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) specifications, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. 10. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Identify and reduce non-value-added work. 11. Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in other production related areas. 12. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct. Basic Requirements: 1. 2 years experience as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operator/or 2 years experience in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate's Degree; or 3 years of experience in a heavy-duty CNC machining environment. 2. Intermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (preferred SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. 2. Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applications. 3. Basic ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications. 4. Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.). 5. Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards. 6. Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex. 7.Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees. 8.Basic ability to interpret blueprints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts or other documents regarding engine assembly and testing. 9. Basic organizational, planning and follow-up skills and the ability to cope with stress. 10. Basic oral and written communication skills. 11. Basic reading, writing and math skills. 12. Ability to work any shift and overtime as required. 13. Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals, tools and devices. 14. Ability to work any shift and overtime as required. 15. Experience as a CNC milling operator. 16. Knowledge of SIEMENS 840 D Control System. 17. Ability to obtain appropriate hoists and power vehicle licenses (Flatbed, Hi-Lo, & Mule) when necessary. Position would require the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech. US Citizenship/Permanent Resident Required. Within this role, you will primarily operate equipment with CNC controllers. Set machine controls, measure and load tools, fixtures, programs, and operate machine. Load and unload parts onto machine and fixtures from pallets or containers. Use hand-tools, ratchets, air tools, or other devices to secure parts and fixtures. Machine parts to blueprint specifications. Check parts to quality specifications. Troubleshoot problems and recommend or take corrective action. Use hoist, pallet jacks or forklift to move parts, material, containers and fixtures to and from storage areas. Complete paperwork for work orders, labor and time reporting, quality records and related reporting requirements. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Train others. Perform other duties as necessary and appropriate for this position. A minimum of 2 years CNC machine controlled equipment experience in a metal cutting/metal working manufacturing environment. Able to apply shop math, read and interpret blueprints and calculate dimensions. Able to use gauges and measuring tools to determine the quality of a part. Able to reach up to 50 inches, lift 30 pounds, and apply 30 pounds of torque to ratchets to load and unload parts on machine. Able to understand work orders, machine controls and settings, fixtures and tool requirements and make adjustments as needed. Able to understand safety policies, procedures and machine features. Able to operate hoist, pallet jack, or forklift. Operation of forklift requires passing a certification test and the ability to step up 14 inches onto the forklift.
