Role Overview:As a CNC Machinist & Programmer at AMS, you will be tasked with crafting and executing software programs that control CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines. We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist & Programmer to join our dynamic team.</li><li>The successful candidate will be instrumental in manufacturing components used in aircraft and other industrial applications.</li></ul><div> Role Overview:</div><ul><li>As a CNC Machinist & Programmer at AMS, you will be tasked with crafting and executing software programs that control CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines.</li><li>These machines perform critical machining operations on metal to create precise components.</li><li>Your expertise in using CAD models and CAM software, such as MasterCam, will drive the efficient and safe production of high-quality parts.</li></ul><div> Shifts Available: Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am; Contract Work available.</div><div> Key Responsibilities:</div><ul><li>Analyze and interpret job orders, CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications.</li><li>Calculate optimal material cutting paths and establish the sequence of machining operations.</li><li>Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures to maximize production efficiency.</li><li>Run First Article Inspection reports.</li><li>Develop and generate CNC program code using CAM software, ensuring alignment with design and operational requirements.</li><li>Perform simulations and tests to validate machining processes and adjust parameters as needed.</li><li>Conduct thorough quality control tests and inspections, including first-article inspections and final reviews before shipment.</li><li>Maintain and update quality documentation related to production and shipments.</li><li>Collaborate with management, quality control, and production teams to enhance machining processes and outputs.</li><li>Ensure all completed parts meet quality standards and specifications, preparing detailed reports for management and quality consultants as required.</li></ul><div> Qualifications and Skills:</div><ul><li>Proven experience as a CNC machinist and programmer, ideally within the aerospace or industrial manufacturing sector.</li><li>Strong capability in programming and operating CNC machines, including 3-axis programming and using MasterCAM software.</li><li>Proficient in reading and interpreting 2D and 3D blueprints and manufacturing drawings.</li><li>Ability to perform physical tasks associated with operating CNC machinery and handling tools.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work within designated timelines.</li></ul><div> Additional Requirements:</div><ul><li>Candidates must be capable of conducting and approving first article inspection reports.</li><li>Experience with various testing and calibration methodologies, including hardness, gauge, and calibration testing.</li></ul>
