Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Ultrasound Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: One (1) or more years of experience License: - Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BCLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Breast Specialty (RDMS (BR)) - Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics Must-Have: - Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies - Ability to verbally communicate and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations - Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy - Ability to use computers and perform typing for documentation and accessing information - Ability to lift, bend, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items - Ability to walk and assist with transporting or ambulating patients - Ability to push and pull equipment such as gurneys and portable devices - Ability to navigate crowded and busy environments - Ability to stand for extended periods of time Description: The Ultrasound Technologist provides excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. Maintains American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
