<h2>Position Overview</h2><p>CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Health Information Management Specialist to maintain medical records and health information systems at a federal correctional institution in Cumberland, Maryland. You will manage inmate health records, process ROI requests, and support clinical coding and compliance reporting.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Maintain and secure inmate health records per BOP policies</li><li>Process release of information requests per HIPAA and BOP regulations</li><li>Audit medical records for completeness and compliance</li><li>Assign ICD-10 and CPT codes</li><li>Compile healthcare utilization and quality metric reports</li><li>Coordinate medical record transfers between facilities</li><li>Support ACA/NCCHC accreditation documentation</li><li>Train staff on documentation requirements</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Associate degree in HIM or related field</li><li>RHIT or RHIA certification preferred</li><li>EHR proficiency</li><li>HIPAA knowledge</li><li>U.S. citizenship required</li><li>Ability to pass federal background investigation</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Federal or correctional HIM experience</li><li>CCS or CPC coding certification</li></ul><h2>Compensation and Benefits</h2><ul><li>Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 annually</li><li>Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Paid time off, holiday pay</li></ul><h2>About CLFC Healthcare & Communications</h2><p>CLFC Healthcare & Communications provides healthcare staffing and language access services to federal, state, and local government agencies nationwide.
