K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.</p><h2><strong>What You'll Need to Succeed</strong></h2><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent). Hearing must be correctable to a range that will allow normal radio and telephone conversation with field units. Vision must be correctable to a range that will allow reading of computer display terminals, maps and printouts quickly and accurately. Must be free of felony convictions.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Prior first responder (law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services) dispatching experience is preferred.</li><li>Ability to handle high pressure and stressful situations which will require the employee to make rapid independent decisions.</li><li>Ability to write effectively, read and comprehend critical information, and have above average communication skills.</li><li>Prior Public Relations experience preferred due to the high volume of public interaction.</li><li>24 hours of college credit.</li><li>Possess strong computer skills to work in a paperless environment.</li><li>Able to pass NCIC test for certification within 6 months of employment. Maintain NCIC Certification with a minimum score of 85% on the test.</li><li>Complete KSUPD Training Program with a minimum 85% on the final review.</li><li>Must be 18 years of age or older.</li><li>Must be free of felony convictions and submit to a thorough background investigation annually.</li><li>Able to pass NCIC test for certification within 6 months of employment.</li><li>Must maintain NCIC certification with a minimum score of 85% on NCIC test.</li><li>Hearing and/or speech must be correctable to a range which will allow normal radio and telephone conversation with field units.</li><li>Vision must be correctable to a range which will allow reading of computer display terminals, maps and printouts quickly and accurately.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Role Information:</strong></p><ul><li>Must maintain NCIC certification with a minimum score of 85% on NCIC test.</li></ul><p><strong>Sponsorship eligibility:</strong></p><p>Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.</p><h2><strong>How to Apply</strong></h2><p>Please submit the following documents:</p><ul><li>Cover Letter</li><li>Resume</li><li>(3) Professional References</li></ul><h2><strong>Application Window</strong></h2><p>Applications close on: June 28, 2026</p><h2><strong>Anticipated Hiring Pay Range</strong></h2><p>$14.54/hr to $21.81 hourly</p><p/><p/>
