Enjoy weekly pay, 401k match day one, and health benefits.Job Overview: Performs general public safety work consisting of protecting the Health, Welfare and Safety of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC). This includes protecting the property (Air/Soil/Water), maintaining order, preventing crimes, and enforcing ordinances, passed by the SMSC General Council. The basic responsibilities include assisting the SMSC Community, SMSC Conservation Officer, police officers, public, and other SMSC staff by performing a variety of public relations technical, clerical, and manual activities related to law enforcement functions which do not require peace officer status. The Community Service Officer (CSO) will also perform related duties as required. This position works within the framework of the policies, ordinances and resolutions of the SMSC Community as well as applicable state and federal laws.Maximize Your Impact: The Responsibilities You’ll Own:<ul style="text-align:justify"><li style="text-align:justify">Assist with enforcement of ordinances; Fish and Game, Animal Control, Consolidated Land Management Ordinance etc.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Serve as SMSC Tribal Court Bailiff.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Assist with SMSC annual Wacipi and other SMSC and Gaming Enterprise outdoor events.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Report writing.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Job Requirements:<ul style="text-align:justify"><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>Law enforcement related experience and/or passed the MN P.O.S.T. eligibility test (Current).</li><li>Ability to receive and record incident reports.</li><li>Pass applicant drug/alcohol screening, medical/psychological exam and comprehensive background check.</li><li>Intermediate computer proficiency to include word processing, electronic mail, and related business software.</li><li>Must be detailed oriented and disciplined to perform routine task under adverse conditions.</li><li>Valid Class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.</li><li>This position is subject to testing for drugs (THC included) & alcohol in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation Regulations as well as the SMSC’s Drug / THC and Alcohol Policy. </li></ul>Outstanding Benefits & Awesome Perks: At the SMSC, we are invested in our Team Members, as demonstrated by the competitive benefits we offer.
