The Greensboro Groove are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Mascot Performer. This unique opportunity allows you to embody our beloved mascot and serve as a vibrant ambassador for the team within the community. You will contribute to creating memorable experiences for fans of all ages while gaining valuable experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the UPSHOT League & Greensboro Groove. Responsibilities <ul><li>Perform as the Greensboro Groove mascot at home games and various community events, including but not limited to school visits, hospital visits, corporate functions, charity events, and team appearances. </li><li>Engage with fans, through non-verbal communication, high-fives, photo opportunities, and entertaining antics. </li><li>Maintain the integrity and persona of the mascot character at all times. </li><li>Work closely with the Community Relations Coordinator to fulfill appearance requests and schedule logistics. </li><li>Assist with setting up and tearing down equipment related to mascot appearances. </li><li>Ensure the proper care, maintenance, and cleanliness of the mascot costume. </li><li>Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols during appearances. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul>Candidate Attributes<ul><li>Energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality. </li><li>Ability to perform in a full-body costume for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions. </li><li>Strong non-verbal communication and improvisational skills. </li><li>Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>A positive attitude and a passion for community engagement. </li><li>Physical stamina and agility are required for mascot performance. </li><li>Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. </li><li>Valid driver's license. </li><li>Prior experience with mascot performance is a plus. </li></ul> Compensation This is a non-paid internship. Academic credit can be arranged if required by your educational institution. This role offers invaluable hands-on experience in sports entertainment and community relations.
