<h4>Overview</h4>Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Community Health Specialist III (Recovery Supports) to join our team in Bloomington, Illinois. This position plays a key role in developing, coordinating, and evaluating community-based recovery support programs, events, and initiatives that promote wellness and resilience. The role focuses on advancing recovery efforts through community collaboration, needs assessment, and program development for communities in Logan and Mason Counties.  Chestnut Health Systems™ is a leading provider of integrated health care services. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.<h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate programs, including recovery support events, community trainings, and other evidence-based initiatives.</li><li>Lead community groups in developing evidence-based programs by facilitating meetings, supporting recruitment, and maintaining communication with members.</li><li>Assist in the development of grant budgets and manage budget reporting and updates.</li><li>Conduct outreach services with community stakeholders and provide supporting data to strengthen partnerships.</li><li>Develop, conduct, and analyze needs assessments and program evaluations.</li><li>Design, implement, and evaluate media campaigns and educational materials based on research and grant requirements.</li><li>Identify funding opportunities and coordinate, develop, and write grant and contract applications.</li><li>Prepare and submit program and grant reports accurately and on schedule.</li><li>Mentor and train staff and interns, taking a leadership role in development and support.</li><li>Participate in and take a leadership role in local, state, and national advocacy groups or collaborations.</li><li>Fulfill agency and funder responsibilities, including staff development, research participation, and committee involvement.</li><li>Promote recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care principles such as hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and connectedness in all interactions.</li><li>Uphold Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence and maintain confidentiality of all client and organizational information.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h4>Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with two (2) years of relevant experience.</li><li>Alternatively, may qualify with one of the following active certifications:– Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)– Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS)– Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS)– Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC)…and ten (10) years of lived experience or professional experience in mental health, substance use, or related social services.</li><li>Knowledge of recovery principles, program development, community capacity building, and evaluation methods.</li><li>Experience in grant writing and budgeting preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing large projects and community collaborations.</li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), video conferencing platforms, and online reporting systems.</li><li>Ability to travel to site plan locations; must have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and an insurable driving record.</li><li>Must have a home internet connection.</li><li>Must be able to obtain DCFS CANTS Child Abuse Clearance.</li></ul>Are you intrigued by this job but don’t meet every single requirement?
