This position is synonymous with the positions of Companion, Housekeeper, Homemaker, and Chore Worker.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></div><ul><li>Assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living): Bathing, Dressing, Toileting, Transferring, Feeding. Mobility Assistance including using transfer aids (Hoyer lifts, gait belts, etc.) Transferring & Positioning.</li><li>Meal Preparation & Cooking Light Housekeeping & Laundry (to include the duties of washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen after meals, laundering clothes, bed linens, and performing other housekeeping activities normally done daily or weekly).</li><li>Grocery Shopping/Errands/Transportation, Working with Dementia/Alzheimer’s Clients.</li><li>Provides companionship for the patient/client while engaging in daily activities with clients.</li><li>Pet services (to include assisting clients with grooming, feeding, walking, bathing, etc.)</li><li>Represents the company positively while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for clients and other employees. Works within the company programs to promote safety and the well-being of all clients and employees.</li><li>Provide general assistance and care to patients/clients to provide for a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the patient/client and family.</li><li>Accurately and thoroughly document services provided in accordance with agency policy on day services are rendered, submitted in a timely manner.</li><li>Immediately reports any changes in patient/client’s needs, condition, or incidents to the supervisor in a timely manner.</li><li>Listens an responds to patient/client’s needs in a sensitive and timely manner either through own initiative as appropriate, or by referral to the supervisor.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT & DEVELOPMENT:</strong></div><ul><li>Attends, participates in internal staff development programs, and obtains continuing education as required by Company policy and regulation.</li><li>Maintains and enhances clinical practice skills.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned in response to patient/client, office and/or facility needs.</li><li>Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></div><ul><li>Reports for work on time prepared to assume duties.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.</li><li>Strong social work skills and ability to connect with individuals of all ages.</li><li>Adheres to company dress code and wears company name badge in a visible place.</li><li>Adheres to company policies and procedures.</li><li>Offers assistance as needed or directs individual to appropriate resources with proper follow through.</li><li>Complies timely with all requirements related to risk management, safety, infection control, TB screening, security, and fire, as appropriate.</li><li>Provides a safe environment for clients, employees, and others.</li><li>Assumes responsibility for all mandatory in-services, certification, and/or licensure, competencies, etc.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>PREREQUISITES:</strong><br/><strong>A. Education:</strong></div><ul><li>High school graduation or GED required.</li><li>The candidate must have successfully completed a training program if required by state regulation or contract.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>B. Direct Previous Experience:</strong></div><ul><li>Two years’ experience in a similar position desired but not required.</li><li>Two years’ experience working with the elderly desired but not required.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>C. Skills/Competencies:</strong></div><ul><li>Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.</li><li>Ability to work with minimal or close supervision.</li><li>Must conduct all business in a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.</li><li>Must pass competency testing on hire and ongoing for the basics of, but not limited to:</li><li>Meal preparation, housekeeping, infection control, safety in the home, proper handling of emergencies, transportation, pet walking and care.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>D. Other Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li>Must have an updated Android or iPhone smartphone device (see Aide visit/documentation requirements).</li><li>Current listing with no substantial finding on state Aide Registry, as state appropriate, if applicable.</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>E. Working conditions:</strong></div><ul><li>50-90% of work is performed in a client’s home.
