POSITION SUMMARY The PSI Group in Williamsport MD, a leading manufacturer of corrugated boxes and custom wood packaging, is seeking Assemblers to join our Wood Assembly Department. Wood Assemblers are responsible for the safe operation of the equipment and machinery utilized in our assembly department to build specialized packaging to meet customer specifications and expectations. These vacancies are full time, 1st shift vacancies and do not require any shift rotation. The core schedule for the positions are Monday-Thursday 6 am-3:30 pm and Fridays 6 am-10 am and overtime as needed.  Good attendance is a must! MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES  <ul><li>Safety First Mentality.</li><li>Ability to read a tape measure.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Ability to stand for extended periods of time.</li><li>Previous experience in finished carpentry, such as cabinet or furniture making.</li><li>Knowledge and experience with the safe operation of power saws and air tools.</li><li>General knowledge of computers.</li></ul> BENEFITS and COMPENSATION PSI offers an excellent benefits package to full time employees, including:<ul><li>choice of two medical plans (single and family), dental, vision, company paid life insurance, voluntary short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability, voluntary supplemental life insurance, critical illness coverage, voluntary accident insurance. Our core values and our people-first culture remain the same.  Description  Trusses are the structural components that support roofs and floors in residential home buildings. They are created by connecting lumber with metal plates, and in this position, you would be responsible for building these components. To begin each day, you will complete a start-up checklist to make sure all the equipment in your area is ready for building. A computer at your workstation will provide you with all the information you need to build the truss. Based on the design, you and your team will set up a framework on the building table, within which the truss will take shape. Then, you will place each piece of lumber in the appropriate position and join them with metal plates. Once all plates have been put in place, you will use a large roller to flatten the plates and merge them with the lumber. After a quality check to ensure there are no mistakes, you’ll move on to your next truss.
