TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)1.Manages and oversees various construction projects in the field, including field inspections of civil construction workmanship and/or materials; reviews construction plan documents; and enforces all applicable codes, laws, and regulations.2.Enters data into computer systems in the field to produce accurate construction records and prepares daily/weekly/monthly progress reports for administration and record-keeping.3.Identifies and assists in resolving compliance issues related to capital improvement projects; monitors testing lab contracts and activities for materials testing including, but not limited to concrete, asphalt, embedment/backfill of underground utilities.4.Coordinates with internal and/or external departments, personnel, and agencies, including the public and contractors; leads construction meetings to facilitate department operations; work may involve providing technical and general information and assistance to the public, contractors, and relevant stakeholders; and addresses and resolves complaints. Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as, mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations; atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, gases, and poor ventilation; hazardous materials, such as chemicals, blood, and other bodily fluids; extreme temperatures; inadequate lighting; work space-related movement restrictions; intense noise; and other environmental conditions, such as, challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environments.
