Carmel, ILlocation to support and lead constructionengineering services for municipal, county, IDOT, and Illinois Tollway (ISTHA) projects. what we're about.What You'll Do:Construction Oversight & Resident Engineering<ul><li>Act as Resident Engineer providing Phase III construction oversight on municipal, county, IDOT, and ISTHA projects.</li><li>Lead weekly construction meetings and coordinate communication between contractors, clients, and stakeholders.</li><li>Identify potential schedule, budget, or constructability issues and work collaboratively to resolve them.</li><li>Attend preconstruction meetings and support field coordination activities.</li></ul> Project Administration & Documentation<ul><li>Prepare pay estimates, change orders, and project documentation in accordance with IDOT and client-specific requirements.</li><li>Review construction calculations and support other Resident Engineers with technical questions.</li><li>Review design plans for constructability during the design phase.</li></ul> Materials Testing & Quality Assurance<ul><li>Manage Phase III personnel and oversee or perform construction materials testing, including soils, aggregates, concrete,and asphalt.</li><li>Perform field and laboratory testing such as density testing, gradation, permeability, moisture, and concrete testing.</li><li>Calibrate testing equipment in accordance with IDOT and AASHTO requirements</li><li>Manage IDOT certification for aggregate and concrete labs and AASHTO certification for soils labs</li></ul>Field Support and Technical Assistance<ul><li>Use survey equipment to verify contractor grades and alignment.</li><li>Assist with transportation design tasks during winter months as workload allows</li></ul>What You'll Bring:Education & Licensure<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).</li><li>Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois.</li></ul>Experience & Technical Knowledge<ul><li>Strong familiarity with IDOT Standard Specifications, Construction Manual, and Project Procedures Guide.</li><li>Knowledge of standard specifications for water and sewer main construction.</li><li>Experience with construction inspection, materials testing, and QA/QC procedures.</li><li>IDOT and ISTHA project experience preferred.</li></ul> Certifications & Training (Preferred or Willing to Obtain)<ul><li>IDOT documentation, CMMS, and QMP certifications.</li><li>IDOT materials testing certifications (PCC, HMA,
