Utilize Honeywell Alarm Performance Optimizer and related tools to identify and remediate “bad actor” alarms, chattering alarms, stale alarms, and alarm flooding scenarios. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert responsible for optimizing and rationalizing a complex Honeywell Experion alarm management system to improve operator effectiveness, process reliability, and overall plant safety.

Location: Gulf Coast Region (Onsite) Duration: Initial 6-Month Contract with Strong Extension Potential (1–2+ Years) Requirements: Valid/Current TWIC Card RequiredWe are seeking an experienced Alarm Management Engineer to support a large-scale LNG and energy operations environment. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert responsible for optimizing and rationalizing a complex Honeywell Experion alarm management system to improve operator effectiveness, process reliability, and overall plant safety.This is a highly visible role supporting mission-critical operations within a sophisticated industrial process environment.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Configure, optimize, and maintain alarm settings within a Honeywell Experion PKS environment to support high-performance operator interfaces and safe plant operations. </li><li>Implement advanced alarm management strategies including Alarm Shelving, Dynamic Alarm Suppression, Alarm Tracker, and nuisance alarm reduction initiatives. </li><li>Lead alarm rationalization efforts aligned with ISA-18.2, IEC 61511, ASM Consortium principles, and API RP 1167 standards. </li><li>Utilize Honeywell Alarm Performance Optimizer and related tools to identify and remediate “bad actor” alarms, chattering alarms, stale alarms, and alarm flooding scenarios. </li><li>Coordinate alarm strategies across integrated process control environments including: <ul><li>Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) </li><li>PLCs </li><li>SCADA systems </li><li>Tank monitoring systems </li><li>Pipeline operations </li></ul></li><li>Generate and present alarm system performance analytics, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement recommendations for plant leadership and operations teams. </li><li>Partner closely with operations, process controls, instrumentation, and engineering teams to improve alarm effectiveness and reduce operator overload during upset conditions. </li></ul>Required Experience<ul><li>5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Honeywell Experion PKS systems within oil & gas, LNG, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments. </li><li>Strong experience with: <ul><li>Honeywell C300 Controllers </li><li>Series C I/O </li><li>Alarm rationalization initiatives </li><li>Alarm lifecycle management </li></ul></li><li>Advanced knowledge of Honeywell alarm management applications and/or third-party rationalization tools such as: <ul><li>Honeywell Alarm Manager </li><li>DynAMo </li><li>exida SILAlarm </li><li>TiPS LogMate </li></ul></li><li>Strong understanding of industrial process equipment and control strategies including compressors, separators, rotating equipment, and advanced regulatory control systems. </li><li>Deep familiarity with: <ul><li>ISA-18.2 </li><li>IEC 61511 </li><li>ASM Consortium principles </li><li>Industrial HMI/alarm design best practices </li></ul></li></ul>EducationBachelor’s Degree in:<ul><li>Electrical Engineering </li><li>Mechanical Engineering </li><li>Instrumentation Engineering </li><li>Related Engineering Discipline </li></ul>Preferred Background<ul><li>Experience supporting LNG facilities, pipeline operations, gas processing, refining, or petrochemical plants highly preferred. </li><li>Previous experience leading large-scale alarm cleanup or alarm optimization initiatives is a major plus. </li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with operations and engineering leadership. </li></ul>This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term project supporting a cutting-edge industrial operation focused on operational excellence, process safety, and modernization initiatives.
