<h2>The Opportunity:</h2>Avantor is seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor to oversee facility maintenance activities. The Maintenance Supervisor's work involves complete maintenance control over designated areas and they will report to the Reliability Maintenance Engineering Manager.This is a full-time position based out of our Carpinteria, CA office with occasional travel to support other sites as needed. What we’re looking for: <ul><li>Education: HS diploma or equivalent degree. A degree in mechanical, instrument/electrical, or another relevant discipline (preferred).</li><li>Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility maintenance.</li><li>Certifications: Certification in Reliability (CRL, CMRP, etc.) desired.</li><li>Additional Qualifications:</li><li>Must understand the RCM process, Failure Mode Identification, Defect Analysis, Cause and Effect Analysis, Loss Elimination, use sFMEA, RCFA Decision Logic, and FRACAS.</li><li>Must understand ISO 55000 Asset Management.</li><li>Expertise in CMMS best practices.</li><li>Full understanding of strategic maintenance planning and scheduling activities</li><li>Management and leadership skills.</li><li>Budget planning skills.</li><li>Good communication and reporting skills.</li><li>Ability to communicate/teach/coach reliability best practices, condition monitoring, and precision methods.</li></ul>How you will thrive and create an impact:<ul><li>Supervise and ensure the safety of Maintenance employees.</li><li>Oversee all maintenance activities in their area of the facility.</li><li>Perform routine and turnaround maintenance and plant modifications.</li><li>Evaluate and analyze products, components, materials, and equipment for the purpose of understanding and predicting failures.</li><li>Review product designs, material specifications, and manufacturing capability to predict reliability and dependability.</li><li>Create prototypes and conduct product tests to gather reliability data.</li><li>Interpret test results and recommend solutions using appropriate statistical distributions and reliability models.</li><li>Recommend product design changes or alterations in manufacturing processes and controls to ensure achievement of required reliability levels.</li><li>Monitor production equipment diagnostics and review maintenance record in order to predict and prevent equipment down times. Document findings, including results of root cause analysis, and facilitate the implementation of necessary changes to ensure product and/or equipment reliability levels are maintained.</li><li>May determine maintenance requirements and schedules for products and equipment.</li><li>Ensure maintenance resources provide an effective, efficient, and cost-effective execution of maintenance schedules across the work area.</li><li>Manage the area maintenance budget.</li><li>Account for the maintenance functions in their area and take necessary action to ensure that key performance targets are met.</li><li>Ensure that workforce is allocated to areas of responsibility in the most effective manner.</li><li>Ensure supervisory support is provided to carry out Weekly, Daily, and Shutdown Schedules.</li><li>Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take appropriate corrective action.</li><li>Approve purchase requisitions for direct purchase of materials promptly.</li><li>Monitor execution of best practices to ensure compliance and take appropriate corrective action as necessary (with Operations Management).</li><li>Follow up on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken promptly (with Operations Management).</li><li>Define priorities for the area (with Operations Management).</li><li>Define and update the 12-Month and 8-Week Event Schedules (with Operations Management).</li><li>Identify work (early) to be done during scheduled shutdown events.</li><li>Identify appropriate goals and objectives for each shutdown.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Disclaimer:</h2>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
