A Carter Lumber Millwork Sales Representative is responsible for finding sales opportunities and completing sales for millwork projects. This is accomplished by identifying target customers, making calls, visiting job sites and assisting customers in a timely and efficient manner with their projects and related product knowledge. Sales techniques, developing customers, following through with commitments and heavy communication are all components of this position. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position. Desired Qualifications <ul><li>3–5 years of experience selling interior and exterior millwork products, ideally including Andersen windows/doors, Sierra Pacific, and aluminum-clad or premium window/door lines</li><li>Experience in interior casework sales and design</li><li>Field experience in the millwork and construction industry</li><li>Ability to read blueprints and contract documents to provide a complete takeoff and proposal, as required by customer and project.</li><li>Strong understanding of specifications, codes and product submittal process for millwork projects</li><li>Strong understanding of the millwork construction schedule process and the ability to plan shipments to meet deadlines</li><li>Ability to review scope of work in awarded contracts</li><li>Demonstrated ability to create new sales opportunities, maintain successful business relationships and improve profitability</li><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills</li><li>Detail oriented, self-motivated and ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel</li><li>This position will cover the Myrtle Beach and Charleston regions <ul><li>Reliable transportation as this will include 80% travel</li></ul></li><li>Salary + commission</li></ul>Essential Functions Sales & Relationship<ul><li>Meets and/or exceeds sales and profit goals by following up on sales leads, monitoring market trends, and growing the positive reputation of the company.</li><li>Create proposals for presentation to general contractors and builders for components products</li><li>Ensures customer satisfaction by assisting with take-offs and communicating scheduling and delivery commitments.</li><li>Visits general contractors and builders with store representatives to answer questions and assist in closing sales during the presentation process.</li><li>Collects and keeps up-to-date information on customers’ product use and trends.</li><li>Determines appropriate credit program based on customer’s needs.</li></ul>Communication<ul><li>Conducts jobsite visits when product quality issues arise.</li><li>Identifies and provides solutions by performing related troubleshooting tasks.</li><li>Keeps lines of communication open between the team members at the store and customers to ensure that service is accurate and timely.</li></ul>Knowledge & Training<ul><li>Completed required orientation and safety training</li><li>Identifies personal growth needs and learning opportunities.</li><li>Commits to continued learning on products, packages, procedures and more.</li></ul>Benefits (full-time employees) <ul><li>Health, Dental, Vision (Single and Family Plans) available after 30 days of employment </li><li>Short and Long-Term Disability </li><li>Company-paid life insurance and AD&D </li><li>Optional supplemental life insurance </li><li>Company-match 401(k) </li><li>Vacation time and paid holidays </li><li>Vendor incentives </li><li>Room for growth; we promote from within!</li><li>Military encouraged to apply!</li></ul>
