seeking a C&M Technician to perform company field operations including manual labor and other duties necessary to accomplish the installation, repair, construction and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems. </p><p><strong><u>ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</u></strong></p><ul><li>Installs, repairs or replaces steel and plastic pipe.   </li><li>Provides First Responder assistance in emergency situations.  </li><li>Locates gas lines.   </li><li>Loads and unloads required equipment, tools, and supplies onto and from truck.   </li><li>(C&M Tech I) Transports required equipment, tools, and supplies to work sites.  </li><li>(C&M Tech II) Trains and coaches less experienced members of the crew.  </li><li>(C&M Tech III) Assists with or leads work on site. </li></ul><p><strong><u>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Minimum education required of the position</u></strong></p><ul><li>Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages), punctuation, grammar and spelling.  </li></ul><p><strong><u>Minimum experience required of the position</u></strong></p><ul><li><u>C&M Tech I:</u>    Requires no prior work experience.  </li><li><u>C&M Tech II:</u>   Requires a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in construction, installation and maintenance of gas distribution systems, including a commercial driver’s license and company welding certifications. </li><li><u>C&M Tech III:</u>  Requires a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in construction, installation and maintenance of gas distribution systems, including two years' experience welding (steel) pipe.  Requires a commercial driver’s license and company welding certification.             </li></ul><p><strong></strong><strong><u>Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position</u></strong></p><ul><li>Able to apply knowledge of industry and company safety standards and regulations.  </li><li>Able to provide a valid state driver's license and present and maintain a good driving record and to operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.  </li><li>Able to use the proper tools for any given job.  </li><li>Able to assist with Plugging and Tapping procedures.  </li><li>Able to assist in preparation of pipe for welding.  </li><li>Able to learn and operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, trencher and a two-ton or larger truck.  </li><li>Able to learn and perform gas meter resets and relights.  </li><li>Able to learn and utilize company’s mapping system.  </li><li>Able to learn and complete paperwork as required.  </li><li>Able to demonstrate an aptitude for basic <p>Thompson Engineering is looking for qualified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians for various locations. This position is responsible for the daily oversight of the construction materials testing and inspection on construction sites to ensure specified standards of quality are met. <strong>Preferred candidates would need to be open to travel to various jobs sites and locations as required. </strong></p><p><br/><br/>DUTIES<br/><br/>1. Utilize a 40 lb. nuclear gauge to run tests on construction materials</p><p>2. Obtain concrete samples from the ready mix trucks</p><p>3. Make concrete test cylinders</p><p>4. Run tests on concrete samples and deliver the samples to the laboratory</p><p>5. Observe and record construction crew performance data for related activities</p><p>6. Perform visual inspection of rebar</p><p>7. Obtain and deliver soil samples from the jobsite to the laboratory</p><p>8. Interact with clients and contractors in a professional and ethical manner</p><p>9. Ensure that company-owned equipment is maintained in good working order <br/>for use on projects and/or assignments</p><p>10.Ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are implemented on all <br/>work assignment</p><p>11.Establish and maintain a daily diary of all field activities for each project</p><p>12.Submit daily reports and other documentation to the Team Leader as <br/>required by project specifications and/or applicable criteria</p><p>13.Perform all tasks assigned in a professional and ethical manner and <br/>according to company policies and procedures</p><p>14.Report to the Team Leader corrective actions (when necessary) to best <br/>ensure that the quality of work is maintained and meets company standards</p><p>15.Follow all written procedures for work being performed</p><p>16.Proactively review all project documents and testing procedures, and exhibit <br/>comprehension for the technical requirements and procedures necessary to <br/>perform the assigned work</p><p>17.Prepare reports and perform field activities in a timely manner</p><p>Other Responsibilities<br/><br/>1.
