Indorama Ventures is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Production Engineer at our Port Neches, TX location. In this role, you will play a critical role in the success of the POMTBE processing unit. The successful candidate will provide leadership and innovation to ensure that the units are run safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will also communicate with various levels of the organization to ensure targets are met and daily activities are managed properly. What will be expected from you?<ul><li>Support PO/MTBE Day to day operations.</li><li>Review daily production vs. commercial plan and capacity and make/implement daily recommendations to operate at highest quality/productivity/lowest cost. Implementation includes preparing appropriate requests, writing notifications, and any other duties assigned by supervision.</li><li>Identify and implement process improvement opportunities for the PO/MTBE plant, including generation of MOC’s.</li><li>Ensure that SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) meet PSM requirements. Work with JITs to track procedure reviews for each shift, target is 20% per year to meet the five-year review cycle. Integrate procedures into DCS graphics where possible.</li><li>Support Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) processes as needed to ensure safety of process changes.</li><li>Execute plant experiments (through MOC) and implement change based on experimental results.</li><li>Track and enter OEE for the PO/MTBE plant.</li><li>Provide input to the budget and capital planning process.</li><li>Ensures optimal yield, energy, cost, and quality performance in the PO/MTBE plant. Update and post the yield and energy charts on the white board on a weekly basis.</li><li>Participate in plant sponsored safety processes.</li><li>Assist in plant startup including equipment and piping check out and assist with SOP and training material development.</li><li>Responsible for mastering all PO/MTBE unit operations.</li><li>Perform end of month financial duties for PO/MTBE.</li><li>Perform goods receipts for purchasing as requested.</li><li>Provide beginning of month, middle of month, and end of month production forecasts.</li><li>Primary resource for Marine Dock Planning.</li><li>Primary resource for TPC and Enterprise inventory management.</li><li>Responsible for ordering raw materials used in the PO/MTBE unit (ADM catalyst, EGME, IC-8).</li><li>Leader of the monthly KPI review meeting and generator of the monthly MDA report.</li><li>Support the alarm management process for PO/MTBE.</li><li>Responsible for reviewing and entering comments for non-Conforming samples.</li><li>Lead optimization effort on POP purge management – develop tools, operator training, etc.</li><li>Operations resource for leading incident investigations and RCFAs.</li><li>Promote and support Indorama core values.</li><li>Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).</li><li>Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.</li><li>Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.</li><li>Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.</li><li>Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.</li></ul>What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?<ul><li>BS in Chemical Engineering required.</li><li>5 years of production engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical or refining industry is preferred</li><li>MUST possess or be able to obtain TWIC card, for information please visit https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic</li><li>Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.</li><li>Familiarity with chemical plant control system (DCS) and advanced process control a plus.</li><li>Six Sigma/lean experience preferred.</li><li>Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).</li><li>Strong computer skills, including process simulation tools such as Aspen or SEEQ a plus.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.</li><li>Able to manage multiple priorities.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.</li><li>Strong engineering, technology and business acumen to bring value to business team.</li><li>Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop engineering solutions.</li></ul>What can we offer you?
