<p><strong>Kwest Environmental, Health & Safety Professional Position Description</strong></p><p><strong>Position: </strong>EH&S Professional</p><p><strong>Report to:</strong>EH&S Manager</p><p><strong>Job Description Overview</strong></p><p>The successful candidate will coordinate with the EH&S Manager, other members of the EH&S department, Project Management and Field Operations personnel. The EH&S Professional will be responsible for the following duties as indicated below, subject to change with or without notice.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Regularly travel to regional offices and job sites and conduct on-site inspections to evaluate safe work practices, physical conditions and environmental practices.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Kwest Group and site-specific client environmental and safety procedures. Communicate and submit all findings via report to project managers, audited team members, and senior leadership in a timely manner.</li><li>Identify and evaluate environmental conditions and practices in the workplace.</li><li>Develop controls for identified conditions and hazards.</li><li>Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of environmental and safety analyses.</li><li>Assist field supervision with the implementation of Project Specific Safety and Environmental Plans (PSSEP’s).</li><li>Assist with safety equipment/supplies or site-specific needs for project when applicable.</li><li>Issue stops work orders on projects that are found to have safety deficiencies.</li><li>To act as the Kwest Group representative to the client, subcontractors, and suppliers during the life of the project, under the direction of the assigned supervisor.</li><li>Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationships with customers, team members, and the public.</li><li>Perform all duties consistent with the Company Mission Statement and the "Kwest Group" philosophy.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements and Qualifications </strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or an Associate’s degree and/or professional certifications in environmental science, safety or related field is preferred.</li><li>Must possess or obtain Michigan SESC Certification within 60 days of date of hire.</li><li>Prior experience performing SWPPP and/or other environmental related duties in civil construction, industrial, engineering, or related fieldis preferred.</li><li>Knowledge and prior experience with specific State and Federal SWPPP/environmental regulations and compliance is needed.</li><li>Prior experience performing and/or a capacity to acquire safety duties in civil construction, industrial, engineering, or related field is needed.</li><li>Strong knowledge of MS Office software.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects, completing complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.</li><li>Must be able to pass a background and drug test.</li><li>Out of town travel as required, up to 50-70%.</li><li>Work approximately 50 – 55 hours per week.</li><li>Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours, as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions & Physical Demands</strong></p><ul><li>Frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.</li><li>Regularly required to stand and walk.
