Reviews and updates the patient's account to ensure the hospital has accurate and current information to process claims and to obtain payment including complete documentation of benefits, authorization information, and patient financial responsibility including Hospice admissions or other insurance changes as required. Ensure Financial Clearance protocol has been completed, which includes collecting patient liability prior to service; establishing payment plan with accepting a deposit; referrals to Medicaid Eligibility; and or referral to Financial Counselor.
