This position is accountable for the day-to-day operations and management of the Bird and Mammal (BAM) team and the bird and mammal population; works collaboratively with all other departments at the Aquarium for creative and engaging engagements, education, and outreach; facilitates construction and maintenance of BAM exhibits to ensure optimal animal welfare; and enhances practices and opportunities for animal training, husbandry and veterinary programs. Minimum of ten years' experience involving the care and husbandry of animals in a zoo, aquarium, or related environment (AZA facility preferred), demonstrating levels of increased responsibility supervising animal care staff, managing animal care facility assets, and the care and husbandry of aquarium or zoo animals, with an emphasis on marine mammals and birds.
