IT SECURITY ANALYST I<div style="padding:1pt 4pt;border:1pt solid">Department:Exempt:Reports To:IT Director Pay Grade $28.65 hourlyPosition Type: Hours:</div>Job Summary:Under general direction, this position plays a vital role in keeping the City’s computer systems and sensitive information secure in accordance to industry standard. The incumbent recommends, develops and maintains best policies, procedures and practices for the security and integrity of the computer systems. Position will be responsible to inform and train City employees on security. Job Description:DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Monitors computer networks for security issues.</li><li>Investigates security breaches and other cyber security incidents.</li><li>Installs security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.</li><li>Documents security breaches and assess any damages caused.</li><li>Performs tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.</li><li>Fixes detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.</li><li>Recommends and develops City wide best practices for IT security.</li><li>Helps install security software and understand information security management.</li><li>Researches and recommends security enhancements.</li><li>Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards to become the subject matter expert.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must be able to access file cabinets for filling and retrieve data. The employee must have the ability to sit at a desk and view a screen for extended periods of time.
