The kitchen assistant will join the Creamery Kitchen team to deliver wholesome, fresh meals made by hand and to order.Responsibilities in this role include all aspects of food preparation at the various kitchen stations: pizza, salad/mac 'n' cheese, plater, expeditor and cashier.Job Duties and Responsibilities:ï§ Prepare menu items adhering to The Creamery Kitchen's recipesï§ Provide Creamery Kitchen customers with outstanding customer service and quality foodï§ Set-up, operate, and shut down daily station assignmentï§ Prepare food and serve according to State Health and Safety codeï§ Learn all menu items that are prepared at each stationï§ Proper portion control to ensure consistency in all menu itemsï§ Operate various kitchen tools and equipment properly and in a safe mannerï§ Assist putting away deliveries and using proper storing methods (i.e., first in/first out)ï§ Maintain cleanliness at assigned station and throughout the kitchen and preparation areaï§ Practice proper sanitation and personal hygiene habitsï§ Operate cash register, count cash and make changeï§ Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesï§ Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgmentï§ Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformityï§ Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) ï§ The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Partner with managers to update job descriptions and move candidates through the entire interview and selection process effectively. Guide HR team in triaging critical staffing shortages as needed Partner with outside agencies to conduct recruitment events, representing DFA career opportunities in accordance with company values. Share job opportunities on social media sites in partnership with talent acquisition as appropriate. Lead and execute the on-boarding of new employees to ensure new employees and repositioned employees have proper orientation and access to information and resources needed to be successful in the role. Partner with management to create a comprehensive onboarding plan which includes supervisor-led training for new employees. Facilitate talent management initiatives to drive engagement, build business capabilities, and enhance retention. Partner with HR team to ensure consistency with talent initiatives organizationally. Provide leadership in the execution of HR processes, practices, and policies in partnership with leader(s) Communicate HR practices and procedures to leaders and support them in executing performance activities, compensation tasks, and corrective actions.
