Emergent Method is seeking a qualified Business Analyst to support an IT project for a state government agency. This is a full-time position based in Baton Rouge, LA, that will support an active system development effort. Local candidates with the ability to maintain an onsite working presence are preferred, though remote candidates will be considered and are encouraged to apply.   The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and adept in handling a wide range of business analysis and data-related tasks. This individual must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment.   Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul style="margin-top:8px"><li style="margin-left:8px;margin-top:8px">Serve as a support resource for data migration and conversion activities </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Document business processes and requirements around data conversion approaches </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Translate business requirements into functional and technical designs, including implementing stories and process flows </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Conduct data analysis and profiling to ensure accuracy and consistency in data migration efforts </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Create and execute complex SQL queries to assist with technical design, data cleansing, and resolution of bugs/defects </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Work closely with technical teams to ensure requirements align with data conversion strategies </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Recommend eliminating, retaining, or enhancing business processes and document results </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Collaborate with source systems, data analysts, and modelers to build scalable data solutions </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Analyze source data and perform gap analysis, source-to-target mappings, and data integration design </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provide support for user acceptance testing (UAT) and IT application testing related to data migration </li></ul>Minimum qualifications include:<ul style="margin-top:8px"><li style="margin-left:8px;margin-top:8px">Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information systems, or a related field </li><li style="margin-left:8px">At least four (4) years of experience in data migration, cleansing, and conversion projects </li><li style="margin-left:8px">At least three (3) years of experience in data analysis using SQL queries </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical designs </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to create complex SQL queries </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience working with system-testing tools such as Jira  </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment </li></ul>Background Emergent Method is a nationally recognized management consulting firm focused on developing and implementing plans, programs, and initiatives that result in transformative impact.We are focused on strengthening the skills, capacity, and resources of our clients to support them in creating unique and valuable experiences for their stakeholders. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following: <ul><li>Design models (coordination, shop drawings and as-builts). </li><li>Assist with the system design, model all content, and coordinate the model with other trades. </li><li>Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment within designated job specifications. </li></ul><ul><li>Apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes. </li><li>Read and comprehend contract documents that will detail scope of work. </li><li>Read one-lines, panel schedules, etc. to execute 3D modeling. </li><li>Work with site foremen to ensure clarity and ease of constructing modeled work into a built environment. </li><li>Review construction drawings for apparent conflicts with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm and structural contract documents and to ensure compliance with local code requirements. </li><li>Work closely with project management team for resolution of issues identified during reviews through the Request For Information (RFI) process. </li><li>Coordinate draft construction drawings with other trades to ensure routings and clearances are understood and no obstructions exist. </li><li>Perform site surveys and field measurement work as needed to support the conceptual and design drawing effort. </li><li>Review submittal documents for accuracy. </li><li>Maintain logs as needed for RFIs, transmittals, and drawings. </li><li>Identify and resolve issues with clients, architects, engineers, building owners and vendors related to construction drawings and drawings of record. </li><li>Work with point cloud files and survey points to provide as-built conditions.  </li></ul>Education, Experience, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: <ul><li>Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Associates Degree or higher preferred. </li><li>Must have experience working as a BIM Coordinator, Detailer, or Modeler. </li><li>Proficient in MEP REVIT </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel </li><li>Must have the mental capacity to understand and apply job-related concepts, technologies, instructions, procedures, computer and software operations, input data and create/annotate drawings with a very high degree of accuracy on a consistent basis with high throughput and minimum supervision. </li><li>Strong Computer skills and aptitude for learning. </li><li>Detail oriented, able to recognize errors quickly. </li><li>Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to juggle multiple high priority tasks. </li><li>Working knowledge of general construction, electrical parts and their intended use. </li><li>Ability to effectively solve problems. </li><li>Ability to work in-person at our Baton Rouge corporate office</li><li>Ability to work up to or over 40 hours per week Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. </li></ul>MMR Group, Inc. and its affiliated companies ("MMR") is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, veteran status, genetic information or any other legally protected classPowered by JazzHR
