Certain positions require applicants to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a "U.S. Citizen".Job StoryNIAR's CAD/CAM lab is looking for students to work with Mechanical CAD and Systems Engineering for various projects in the Digital Twin lab. Students may be required to learn about other software products and hardware. They will support a variety of projects and programs for the lab. Their task may range from classroom support and project research to direct industry program support. Employees will be expected to assist lab staff in any way possible to help make the lab successful, presentable to customers, and accomplish projects in a timely manner.Job SummaryA student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.Job Duties<ul><li>Model components from various data sources</li><li>Assist staff with research project development</li><li>Assisting staff on the industry level support</li><li>Operate and help maintain tools and equipment</li><li>Help keep a clean and safe work environment</li><li>Assisting staff with the development of training materials</li></ul>Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications<ul><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bill of material systems.</li><li>Have great attention to detail</li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs</li><li>Ability to work with complex systems</li><li>Able to work 20+ hours each week</li><li>Effectively prioritize and manage workflow</li><li>Ability to work independently on extensive tasks</li></ul>Mechanical CAD:Employees working in the CAD/CAM & Digital Twin labs will learn to utilize CAD programs to support various projects. The project will involve extensive use of 3D Experience software.Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6</li><li>Proficiency in Dassault Systems 3DExperience CATIA/Enovia</li></ul>Systems Engineering:Employees working in the CAD/CAM & Digital Twin labs will learn to utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering and Electrical CAD tools to support various projects. Projects will involve extensive use of Dassault Systems MBSE and Electrical CAD software.Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Proficiency in Dassault Systems MBSE tools (e.g., CATIA Magic, Cameo Systems Modeler)</li><li>Proficiency in Dassault Systems Electrical CAD software (e.g., CATIA Electrical, ENOVIA)</li></ul>Additional Information:Students must have their own transportation, as some local travel between facilities may be required.Physical RequirementsAbility to remain in a stationary position.Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
