The Clinical Director must also have the ability to conduct comprehensive clinical assessments; formulate accurate diagnostic impressions; communicate complex clinical information to multidisciplinary audiences; prepare clear written reports; collaborate effectively with courts and treatment providers; deliver professional education; exercise independent clinical judgment; and maintain effective working relationships with justice system and behavioral health professionals. The Clinical Director serves as the Courts principal clinical consultant, providing ongoing guidance to judges, case managers, coordinators, marshals, prosecutors, defense counsel, and community partners regarding participant behavior, mental illness, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, trauma, relapse, motivation, treatment engagement, responsivity factors, and therapeutic interventions.
