Feeders Pet Supply is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team. The Assistant Store Manager maintains accurate inventory and sales records and identifies loss areas. Ensures compliance with security, sales, and recordkeeping practices. Monitors inventory levels. Handles store housekeeping, cleanliness, maintenance, and repair. Manages store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES"*" denotes an essential function of the job<ol style="list-style-type:upper-alpha"><li>*Responsible for store opening and/or closing in the absence of the Store Manager.</li><li>*Responsible for providing employees direction required to stay on task and perform them in a timely manner while maintaining sufficient floor coverage to meet customer needs.</li><li>Responsible for the training and development of Associates. Recommend high-potential Associates for training to move to the next level within the store.</li><li>*Lead by example to ensure our customers have a positive experience with Feeders Supply.</li><li>*Identify staffing issues during shift and discuss with Store Manager to ensure the store has adequate, trained employees to meet business needs, especially during peak or seasonal periods.</li><li>*Provide feedback to Store Manager in preparation for New Hire 90-day reviews and store personnel annual performance reviews.</li><li>*Effectively oversee attendance, meal periods, and breaks to ensure compliance and advise Store Manager of any discrepancies that occur so they can be addressed to full resolution.</li><li>*Communicate daily/weekly goals for store personnel as defined by Store Manager, specifically regarding special promotions or events.</li><li>* Follow up with Store Manager on performance issues of Associates to ensure they are documented and resolved in a timely manner.</li><li>*Work with store personnel to address shrinkage issues and maintain an effective Loss Prevention program.<ol style="list-style-type:upper-alpha"><li>Control shrinkage by effectively managing the process utilized to check in and reconcile inventory.</li><li>Timely scanning out damaged merchandise and customer returns that are not resalable.</li><li>Train Associates on ways to monitor shoplifting activity and monitor internal controls of the store, evaluating means to reduce any internal potential for shrinkage.</li></ol></li><li>*Perform store merchandising activities, including but not limited to:<ol style="list-style-type:upper-alpha"><li>Building and changing end caps</li><li>Printing and maintaining tags and signage/sale signage</li><li>Resetting dog and cat food aisles</li><li>Rotating stock; train the proper way to rotate stock and ensure it is done.</li><li>Merchandising fish tanks (maximum weight 50 lbs.)</li></ol></li><li>*Assist with all returns.</li><li>* Back-up support within the store including, but not limited to:<ol style="list-style-type:upper-alpha"><li>Cash register.</li><li>Preparing weekly schedules.</li><li>Making bank deposits.</li><li>Payroll processing.</li></ol></li><li>*Loading and unloading trucks with a forklift, pallet jack, and/or dolly.</li><li>*Review stock levels and recommend to Store Manager any change in inventory requirements based upon business needs;
