Main Responsibilities: • Greet patients with compassion and a friendly face • Escort patients to and from front desk and procedure room/recovery area • Obtain dental history and/or records from patient (review patient health history), ensure that the health history is updated for all returning patients • Record patient charting and all physician notes in the Electronic Medical Record as directed • Ensure the physician has reviewed treatment record, consents, and health history • Prepare patients for examinations • Actively participate in the patient's experience by striving to keep your patient focused on optimal treatment while attending to their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of your physician • Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patients feel comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient, quality dental treatment. • Hand instruments and materials to oral surgeon and keep patients mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices • Hold airways during surgery and monitor patients during recovery • Records findings and change barriers during surgery • Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, replenishing as needed • Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures of patients as appropriate • Sterilize instruments/equipment as needed • Clean each operatory in accordance with the American Dental Association guidelines • Perform laboratory duties: molds, grinding, prepare materials for making molds, etc.
