This is a field position, and you will be responsible for working at various sites as necessary, including locations in multiple states.Job Summary:A Successful Directional Drill Locator/ Operator is specially trained and has expertise in locating for horizontal/directional drill rigs and product support equipment. This individual will be primarily responsible for the setup and completion of drilling variable-sized underground boreholes and pulling back the required conduit/pipe. As a Directional Driller/Equipment Operator, you are responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment; Directional Drill, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) Vac. Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, Locator, along with others not listed.<h4>What You'll Do</h4>Responsibilities:<ul><li>Locate for Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable.</li><li>Ensure the safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.</li><li>Operate Directional Drill</li><li>Assist in potholing and remediation.</li><li>Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins.</li><li>Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates.</li><li>Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks, and grounding the machine.</li><li>Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions.</li><li>Ability to perform proper reaming and pull-back methods for existing conditions.</li><li>Oversee laborer's and/or crew members' work and monitor time usage.</li><li>Communicate with the Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e., Bore logs, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs, etc.)</li><li>Follows specifications for the job and company policies.</li><li>Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site.</li><li>Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.</li><li>TRAVEL IS A MUST</li></ul><h4>What You'll Bring</h4>Qualifications:<ul><li>Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position. </li><li>A good driving record is required. </li><li>Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner. </li><li>Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner. </li><li>Class A Commercial Driver’s License is REQUIRED</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc. </li><li>Willing and able to work in all weather conditions. </li><li>Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly</li><li>TRAVEL IS REQUIRED</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry. </li><li>Knowledge of established Horizontal/Directional Drill Locator/ Operator procedures and techniques </li><li>Ability to perform Horizontal/Directional Drill Locator/ Operator procedures and duties. </li></ul>Work Environment:This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.  Physical Requirements:The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. <h5>Industrial Wastewater Program Lead - Oil, Gas and Chemicals Practice </h5>HDR is searching for an Industrial Wastewater (IWW) Program Lead - Oil, Gas, and Chemicals Practice. Candidates for the IWW Lead Oil, Gas, and Chemicals role should have a minimum of 10 years of direct experience with industrial water/wastewater (W/WW) treatment systems for the Oil, Gas, and Chemicals Industries and be capable of developing the business and leading teams of engineers and designers on detailed design and owner's engineer projects. In this role you will work to understand your client's needs, develop creative solutions, support proposal development, lead the technical team, and lead the engineering design of complex industrial process W/WW systems. The ideal candidate will have the requisite experience with Oil, Gas and Chemical Industries in North America. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The pay range for this position in North America (based on experience and location) is $170,000 - $230,000.
