Overview:
The Security Guard will be responsible for ensuring the security of the warehouse/distribution center and the things and people in it.  The goal of this position is to detect, deter, observe, and report. Previous security experience is required.

Responsibilities/Qualifications:
The Security Guard key responsibilities include: <ul><li>Using and monitoring surveillance/camera equipment.</li><li>Keeping a record of all visitors including the time of arrival and departure.</li><li>Patrolling the premises regularly to ensure nothing is out of place.</li><li>Performing scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to check for any security breaches.</li><li>Assisting the maintenance staff in security an area during a maintenance emergency.</li><li>Protecting the company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.</li><li>Responding to alarms within the warehouse.</li><li>Observing and reporting suspicious activities and persons.</li><li>Coordinating with law enforcement in the case of suspected or reported criminal activity.</li><li>Following directions of supervisor and manager.</li><li>Assisting with compliance of company, local, state, and federal safety directives.</li><li>Answering the phone and tracking all yard management services (trucks and deliveries).</li><li>Keeping an eye on the entrance and exits to prevent theft and ensure workplace security.</li><li>Monitoring Win-Pak system and creating badges for temporary employees and new hires and deactivating badges for terminated team members.</li><li>Assigning lockers and issuing locks to team members.</li><li>Issuing and controling all radios that are signed out to team members.</li><li>Performing bag checks whenever team members are leaving the building.</li><li>Ensuring company pets are fed once per shift and have water.</li></ul>Security Guard requirements include:<ul><li>A high school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Previous security experience is required.</li><li>Quick thinking/assessment and problem-solving skills including people and surroundings.</li><li>Strong attention to detail.</li><li>Knowledge of standard security and safety protocols.</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.</li><li>Solid verbal and written communication.</li><li>Listening skills.</li><li>Willingness to learn and enforce safety procedures.</li><li>Comfort with directing people or performing leadership responsibilities.</li><li>Ability to operate emergency equipment and camera/surveillance equipment.</li><li>Ability to work well in a team.</li><li>Ability to work in high-pressure environment.</li></ul>
