Job Title: Overhead Lineman 1st ClassDepartment: OperationsReports To: Overhead ForemanFLSA Status: Non- ExemptWork Schedule: Four 10-hour days per week.Location: Fishersville, VA, OnsitePosition Purpose:Overhead 1st class is a experienced position in the construction and maintenance of electrical overhead distribution systems. You will work at multiple locations and may also require travel to another state, depending on customer demands.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead crew members in the absence of the Foreman.</li><li>Strings overhead wire.</li><li>Set poles and anchors.</li><li>Install transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.</li><li>Troubleshoot trouble in primary and secondary systems.</li><li>Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits and systems.</li><li>Frequently work with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.</li><li>Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.</li><li>Perform rigorous physical labor.</li><li>Can identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit.</li><li>Must be familiar with induced voltage.</li><li>Understand grounding procedures.</li><li>Work at heights or confined spaces.</li><li>Install and remove PPE and cover up.</li><li>Must be able to climb different types of structures (wood, steel) and have the necessary tools to do so.</li><li>Must understand how to phase out a line using phasing sticks.</li><li>Plan safe work based on a job print or work order.</li><li>Understand how to obtain a one shot on a recloser.</li><li>Can conduct a pre-job or tailgate briefing.</li><li>Can safely perform a reconductoring job.</li><li>Safely install and remove mechanical jumpers.</li><li>Understand how to use a load bust tool.</li><li>Does all other related work to complete the job.</li><li>Can work outside, frequently in inclement weather conditions.</li></ul>Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the responsibilities of this job, you talk or hear. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. <h2>Work Hours:</h2><h2>Day Shift - 5:00am to 5:00pm ***Work every other weekend***</h2>Location: Harrisonburg, VAReport to: Dry Warehouse Supervisor/Operations ManagerResponsibilities as Lead:<ul><li>Promote a safe work environment through personal actions</li></ul><ul><li>Plans and leads the shift operations of an assigned facility, providing distribution and warehouse services to a wide variety of regional customers</li><li>Monitor employee morale and other employment related issues, keeping supervision/management abreast of any items that may be of concern</li><li>Plan and lead Warehouse Associates with the unloading/loading/processing operations using equipment in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Work with supervision/management to communicate items such as hot shipments or deliveries, product on hold, work schedules, new procedures, new policies, etc.</li><li>Lead Warehouse Associates in the proper rotation of stock, where applicable</li><li>Assist with periodic inventories, and be prepared to lead Warehouse Associates in the proper cycle count, counting and re-counting procedures</li><li>Lead and encourage Warehouse Associates in the areas of safety, industrial hygiene, general safety, environmental health, and fire safety</li><li>Identify and reduce risks from potential hazards in the workplace and assist with compliance to OSHA and other regulatory rules and regulations</li><li>Monitor maintenance of the warehouse and warehouse equipment, communicating any related problems to supervision/management</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>As Shipping Coordinator:<ul><li>Direct workforce by utilizing Blue Yonder processes</li><li>Problem solves systematic issues to maintain operator movement.</li><li>Analyze and manage space considerations to maximize efficiency.</li><li>Manage operations systematically in multiple locations.</li><li>Ensure team member utilization and productivity by releasing work timely.</li><li>Direct product to correct area in warehouse</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Ability to lead Warehouse Associates in the proper warehouse methods, principles and practices</li><li>Ability to analyze pertinent factors related to stock and inventory control</li><li>Ability to determine material requirements for specific or specialized projects</li><li>Ability to maintain effective working relationship</li><li>Ability to lead Warehouse Associates in the performance of material receipt, storage, shipping/distribution and record keeping functions</li><li>Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously</li><li>Prefer 1 year of Forklift experience (specific standup or sit down) in a warehouse or manufacturing environment but not mandatory. Training will be provided.</li><li>Familiarity with RFID</li><li>Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>Knowledge of warehousing operations including receipt, storage, issuance and distribution of a wide variety of commodities</li><li>Knowledge of inventory control and inventory practices</li><li>Knowledge of commercial shipping methods, terminology and equipment</li><li>Knowledge of Federal, State and Local requirements for receipt, storage, issuance and disposal of hazardous materials and similar items requiring special handling</li><li>Ability to coordinate, schedule and lead the work activity for assigned personnel</li><li>Knowledge of facilities maintenance</li><li>Strong teamwork skills must be able to train all team members on specific processes</li><li>Must be able to work overtime, days and/or evenings, and weekends</li><li>Must be able to work in a 35 degrees Fahrenheit cold storage environment.</li><li>Ability to read numbers and labels</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Ability to pay close attention to details and meet deadlines</li><li>Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs. frequently</li></ul>Training and Experience:<ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent</li><li>Two (2) years of warehousing experience in a moderate-sized warehouse.</li><li>Supervisory experience is helpful but not required.</li><li>Experience with Blue Yonder and/or successful completion of Blue Yonder training (will be provided)</li></ul>License/Certificates:<ul><li>Possession of a valid state driver’s license is required.
