You support our team as Reliability EngineerResponsibilities• Failure Analysis & Maintenance Strategy: Diagnose equipment issues and optimize performance using CMMS, predictive tools, and root cause analysis.
• Technical Drawing & Documentation: Create detailed engineering drawings with AutoCAD and Inventor, and produce professional deliverables like project scopes and executive presentations.
• Systems Troubleshooting & Safety Engineering: Apply expertise in electromechanical and industrial control systems to resolve machine issues and enhance safety through equipment redesign.
• Project Leadership & Capital Execution: Support Capex and Maintenance initiatives from concept to closeout using the full capital engineering stage-gate process.
• Procurement & Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with third-party vendors to outsource fabrications, manage part procurement, and create SAP requisitions.

Your Opportunity + ImpactThe Instrumentation Engineer is an experienced engineer responsible for leading instrumentation design, calculations, and technical deliverables for a wide range of projects. This position applies advanced knowledge of instrumentation systems, industry standards, and project execution to develop high-quality designs and documentation. The Instrumentation Engineer works with moderate independence, provides technical oversight of associates, and contributes to the development of control strategies and project-specific solutions.  Key Responsibilities<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Leads instrumentation design activities, calculations, and documentation for assigned projects with minimal supervision.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Develops, maintains, and oversees instrument databases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project requirements.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Develops detailed P&ID instrumentation and control details, ensuring alignment with approved control strategies and design intent.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Develops instrument hardware specifications using ISA standards and other applicable industry standards.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Leads the development of control strategies and functional specifications in coordination with process, automation, and electrical disciplines.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Prepares instrument data sheets, specifications, and technical reports, and review the work of associates for quality, accuracy, and compliance.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Designs, reviews, and supports control panel layouts and documentation, including participation in and oversight of shop testing activities.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Supervises and reviews I/O wiring design for field devices, including motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs).</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Develops, applies, and standardizes installation detail drawings and project-specific instrumentation details.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provides technical guidance, mentoring, and day-to-day support to junior engineers and designers.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Reviews instrumentation deliverables prior to submission to ensure compliance with project scope, client requirements, and quality standards.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Coordinates with multidisciplinary project teams to resolve technical challenges and support efficient project execution.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Supports project planning efforts by contributing to scope development, schedules, and labor estimates for instrumentation activities.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Continues professional development by expanding technical expertise, leadership skills, and knowledge of emerging technologies.</li><li style="margin-bottom:16px;margin-left:8px">Performs additional duties as assigned in support of project and departmental objectives.</li></ul>Education and Experience<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering field from ABET accredited school.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ of job-related experience.</li><li style="margin-bottom:16px;margin-left:8px">Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE), preferred.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the engineering field. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Familiarity with AutoCAD, Rockwell Studio 5000, Allen Bradley, MATLAB, Siemens TIA or LabVIEW is a plus, but not required.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook). </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team. </li><li style="margin-bottom:16px;margin-left:8px">Exhibits strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to technical excellence and innovation.</li></ul>EEO StatementLarson Design Group, Inc. is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
