In addition, the MTC Clinic seeks to equip missionaries by restoring physical health and well-being, preparing each missionary to enter the mission field whole, strengthened, and ready to serve.What you'll do in this position:<ul><li>Provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in both a clinic and ambulatory setting</li><li>Provide answers to questions over telephone</li><li>Be in call rotation to cover calls and weekend rounding on the missionaries</li><li>Document all findings, consultation, treatment, and diagnoses</li><li>Review documentation for accuracy</li><li>Communicate the care of missionaries with the community specialists and ecclesiastical leaders</li><li>Attend related classes, CME workshops, and meetings</li><li>Expand medical knowledge by reading educational materials and current medical publications</li><li>Keep abreast of new developments in medicine</li><li>Promote a positive image of the department and the University</li><li>Support activities of the department and other University departments</li><li>Relate well with other University employees</li><li>Adhere to University standards and policies</li><li>Participate in Missionary Committees as assigned</li><li>Assist Missionary Department with evaluating missionaries</li></ul>What qualifies you for this role:Required:<ul><li>A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.</li><li>Expertise in Medicine - Licensed Medical Doctor skills and knowledge, problem-solving, decision-making, cost awareness, patient documentation, planning and organizing, computer skills, ability to maintain confidentiality.</li><li>MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school</li><li>Completion of an accredited residency program</li><li>Current unrestricted physician license of the State of Utah (or ability to obtain)</li><li>DEA registration</li><li>Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain)</li><li>Board Certified</li><li>Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience in ambulatory or primary care setting</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Experience in student health, missionary medicine, travel medicine, or urgent care</li><li>Experience coordinating care with specialists and multidisciplinary teams</li><li>Leadership or supervisory experience</li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate with professionalism, diplomacy and balanced judgment</li><li>Thorough, attentive, humble, and safety-oriented approach to patient care</li></ul>What we offer in return:This position comes with fantastic benefits, including:<ul><li>Employee assistance program, available to the employee and all members of their household</li><li>Access to the library</li><li>Free on-campus parking</li><li>Free UTA pass</li><li>Discounts at the BYU Store and for many events at BYU</li></ul>Pay Grade: 57PTypical Starting Pay: $76.50 to $100.00 an hourRequired Documents:All Staff positions require a resume.Refer to the Job Posting for any additional required documents.Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.Brigham Young University is an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.Brigham Young University (BYU) is widely recognized not just for its world-class education, but for its deep commitment to inspired religious values.
