Collaboration, respect, integrity and accountability are core concepts for our success.Job Duties:<ul><li>Write programs and modify existing ones for increased efficiency.</li><li>Utilize drawings or CAD models to support program development.</li><li>Utilize CAM software to produce programs.</li><li>Make calculations for programming.</li><li>Create, document and back-up all programs. This may include, but is not limited to Arc, Hardfacing, Brazing, and Tacking.
• Weld and hardface components on weld positioner.
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
• Weld separately or in combination, using hardfacing powders, rods, and other alloys.
• Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to specifications.
• Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
• Connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained.
• Determine required equipment and welding methods, and welding techniques.
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
• Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
• Chip or grind off excess hardfacing using hand grinders, or other equipment.
• Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
• Position and secure workpieces, using hoists, cranes, or hand tools.
• Preheat workpieces prior to welding using torches or heating furnaces.
• Guide and direct flames or electrodes on or across workpieces to melt or build up metal.
• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
• Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes, portable grinders, or degreaser.
• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and operations.
• Some repair expertise may be required, such as, but not limited to, repairing bits with minor hardfacing.Experience and Education:High School diploma, minimum requirement
Experience with hardfacing operations, a plus
Technical Skills:
• Be able to follow engineering prints and specifications

Collaboration, respect, integrity, and accountability are core concepts for our success.What's the Job Like?PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Set up, maintain, and operate computer-controlled tools (CNC) or machines to process parts, tools, or other work pieces.
• Maintain knowledge of G & M codes and input them into CNC machines for production, while ensuring products have precise and accurate measurements.
• Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited to, lathes and milling machines in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
• Operate, perform set-up changes and first article inspections on production runs utilizing CNC Machines.
• Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
• Identify problems before production runs, then start and observe machine operation to detect any other malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
• Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance, and tooling requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and cutting tools to be used.
• Prove out new programs and make simple edits of NC programs on at least one or more numerically controlled machines.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• Read, interpret, and understand information in work order, Bill of Materials, and other related documentation inside the job packet.
• Perform inspection of raw material or verify part serial number before machining.
• Perform work in a safe efficient manner within established work instructions and special processes.
• Perform finish product inspections.
• Maximize yields during job and maintain high quality standard to minimize defects.
• Maintain NOV guidelines on safety, quality, and delivery.
• Clean work areas as necessary to maintain cleanliness, health, and safety standards.
• Champion facility goals for Safety, Quality, Innovation, and Cost - seek opportunities to provide feedback on process improvements, cost savings, and opportunities to work more efficiently and/or safely. Remain open to feedback and collaboration with other departments and business units.All other reasonable tasks assigned with the goal of helping the team, operations, or the facility overall.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass a drug screen & background check. 2+ years of CNC mill or lathe experience.
