The Role This position is a hands-on estimating role responsible for preparing detailed bids for commercial drywall, framing, and paint scopes ranging from $500K to $6M. Success in this role means confidently managing multiple bid deadlines, delivering accurate takeoffs using OST and QuickBid, and helping drive a consistent pipeline of awarded work. The role is based 95% in-office and interfaces with both internal teams and external clients. While not required, candidates with leadership aspirations may step into a Lead Estimator role over time. Responsibilities <ul><li>Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial drywall, framing, and paint scopes </li><li>Review and interpret construction drawings and project specifications </li><li>Respond to bid invitations via online platforms </li><li>Work within OST and QuickBid software to prepare competitive, accurate estimates </li><li>Handle multiple bids at once while meeting tight deadlines </li><li>Collaborate with project management and field teams to align scopes and budgets </li><li>Support handoff processes and contribute to business development through high-quality bidding </li><li>Participate in hands-on estimating assessments during the interview process </li></ul>Requirements Must-Have: <ul><li>10-15 years' experience in commercial drywall and framing estimating </li><li>Proven track record estimating mid- to large-scale projects ($500K to $5-6M) </li><li>Strong proficiency in OST and QuickBid (minimum 5 years' experience) </li><li>Ability to contribute to annual sales targets of $4-6 million in bid volume </li><li>Strong understanding of construction documents, scope reviews, and cost structures </li><li>Comfortable working in a non-corporate, high-output environment </li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills </li></ul>Nice to Have: <ul><li>Previous field experience in drywall or framing </li><li>Leadership capabilities or prior experience managing an estimating team </li></ul>Salary <ul><li>Base Salary: $105,000-$115,000 </li><li>Total Compensation: $120,000-$130,000 (includes performance-based bonuses) </li><li>Lead Estimator Level: $125,000-$140,000 with added performance bonus potential </li></ul>Location <ul><li>Tempe, AZ (On-site role, 95% office-based) Also open to relocating the right candidate </li></ul>Benefits <ul><li>401(k) </li><li>Health insurance </li><li>Paid vacation and holidays </li><li>Annual profit-sharing bonus </li></ul>
