EMT SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Installs, maintains, repairs and modifies a variety of water treatment and/or water reclamation equipment such as pumps, blowers, drive motors (AC and DC) major control valves, clarifiers and filtering systems, chlorination systems, vacuum systems, blowers and fans, heat exchangers and duct work; repairs, maintains, and calibrates chemical feed systems; installs, inspects and operates emergency stand-by power generator systems; repairs and/or replaces equipment and parts ( e.g., pumps, motors, packing, seals, impellers, shafts, coils, valves, piping systems, cables, chains, gears), performs routine and preventive maintenance on equipment (e. changes oil and oil filters; lubricates motors; changes fuses; oils, greases, checks belts, bearings and seals), repairs or replaces parts in accordance with established preventive maintenance schedule, lubricates bearings and gears, changes oil and filters, inspects electrical and piping connections, changes fuses; fabricates and installs auxiliary equipment and devices to replace existing installations or for use in repair operations; repairs process control and automation equipment such as microcomputer, microprocessor and mainframe computer and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including programming and associated multiplex units.
