Duties and Responsibilities of a Controls Engineer: Design: Design machine controls systems, including the sizing and selection of variable speed drives, harmonic filters, motors, motor starters, overcurrent protection devices, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), meters, operator interfaces (HMI), and other auxiliary controls using AutoCAD. Programs must be well organized, documented, and perform all sequence of operations as required for the operation of wire manufacturing machines including drawing machines, annealers, spoolers, electroplaters, bunchers, stranders, payoffs, and others.
