The remaining effort (approximately 25%) will focus on teaching, mentoring, and advising undergraduate students within the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Biomedical Sciences, with opportunities to engage in collaborative research, outreach, and development of specialized diagnostic services (e.g., livestock, wildlife, and aquatic species). The pathology service evaluates more than 6,000 surgical biopsy and cytology cases, approximately 450 full necropsy examinations, and 400 mail-in necropsy cases annually across domestic animals, livestock, poultry, exotic species, wildlife, and aquatic animals.
