Salary is dependent on experience.We are seeking a candidate with a passion for construction and engineering, who enjoys working outdoors and has a strong understanding of technology to fill our role as an engineering technician/construction technician!As our new team member, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections for all types of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. You'll get to work with cutting-edge equipment like Robotic Total Station GPS, drones, and use computer aided drafting software such as MicroStation to measure and calculate quantities and create reports and plan sheets for use on construction projects. You'll also get to perform tests on road and bridge building materials for all types of projects to ensure that they meet NDDOT specifications.But that's not all! You'll have the opportunity to assist project engineers with checking and organizing project final records, as well as with district design work that requires the use of MicroStation. College-level course work and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Materials testing or surveying experience is preferred.To be considered for an Engineering Technician III, you must have at least four years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level coursework and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Materials testing or surveying experience is preferred.To be considered for an Engineering Technician II, you must have at least two years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed.
