Maintains and assists with the operation of endoscope towers and image recording systems to ensure proper documentation of procedures, assists in troubleshooting routine GI endoscopy equipment quickly and efficiently, maintains properly functioning equipment and communicates problems/issues to supervisor, operates equipment for processing and high level disinfection equipment including performing daily quality control and maintains accurate documentation, performs processing and high level disinfection of routine upper and lower endoscopes and high level disinfection of non-disposable equipment 20% . Accurately performs requested diagnostic tests in the clinical area, follows department guidelines in preparing patients for clinic visits, takes and records vital signs including temperature, pulse, weight, respiratory rate and blood pressure, documenting appropriately, follows all clinic policies and procedures related to universal precautions and infection control, provides accurate discharge orders to patients in accordance with all policies and regulations, makes appropriate referrals to resolve patient issues effectively.
