Instructor, Writing and Rhetoric F1274T POSITION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages is seeking a full-time instructor for general education courses. Specific teaching responsibilities include teaching traditional, hybrid, synchronous video, and online courses predominantly in English Composition with occasional assignments teaching Principles of Communication if qualified. The position is not tenure track but can be renewed and continued each year. Successful candidates will have experience teaching basic writing and research skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Rhetoric, Journalism, or closely related field, with at least 12 graduate credit hours in English or writing and relevant teaching experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least two years college teaching experience in basic writing and/or communication. We are seeking adjunct instructors for the Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages at Cameron University in Lawton and/or Duncan. We are particularly seeking instructors for English composition / college writing, general education communication courses and foreign languages, but instructors may also be asked to teach professional writing, creative writing, literature, journalism or public relations courses as needed.This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the department may draw as sections become open at any point during the academic year. This posting may or may not result in hiring, dependent on our current needs, but we will keep applications on file.RESPONSIBILITIES:Adjuncts holding this position may teach a maximum of 9 credit hours a semester.
