Please refer to applicable regulations for all DSP/RBT requirements for state of employment.\n \nAll DSP/RBTs must meet the following minimum requirements:\n\n HS diploma or its educational equivalent\n \n\n Valid Driver's License may be required, based on position/location\n \n\n Must hold or obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within one year of appointment (or be a Licensed Psych Technician or Qualified Behavior Modification Professional, for California assignments)\n \n\n Basic written and verbal communication skills\n \n\n Basic computer skills \u2013 including email, utilizing Workday and related systems (DA, etc.) to complete tasks\n \n\n Interpersonal and problem-solving skills\n \n\n Willingness to take initiative\n \n\n Ability to meet essential physical demands of position including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching with hands and arms; use hands to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls; assisting with lifting/moving individuals of any weight with assistance of mechanical lifts or other equipment and/or pushing individuals in wheelchairs; lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds or running on occasion; having the physical capacity to work with and implement emergency interventions as per the person's Individual Behavior Support Plan and Individual Emergency Intervention Plan, if/as needed, including lifting/moving individuals of any weight with or without assistance of equipment and/or other staff.\n \n\n \nState of California (Enhanced Behavioral Supports Homes and/or Community Crisis Homes):\n\n At least six (6) months prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities\n \n\n Successful completion of State of California Direct Support Professional Training (DSPT) Year 1 and Year 2 courses within one year of appointment\n \n\n Hold (or obtain through employer-provided training) CPR/First Aid, Ukeru and CPI certifications and recertify annually\n \n\n Completion of Health Screening\n \n\n Completion of annual continuing education units (CEUs) for professional development through competency-based training as required by Titles 17 & 22\n \n\n \nPreferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)\n\n Bachelor's degree, preferably in a Human Services field (e.g. \n\n Ensures person-centered plans are implemented and assists with a variety of tasks for people we support, as appropriate/authorized, including:\n Providing personal care\n \n\n Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)\n \n\n Ensuring that medication is administered as prescribed, according to guidelines\n \n\n Teaching/developing skills\n \n\n Supporting person-centered advocacy with the individual\n \n\n Assisting in communication, self-expression and resolving disputes amongst individuals\n \n\n Facilitating ethical decision making\n \n\n Providing supervision for and/or planning and preparing balanced meals and snacks for people we support in accordance with dietary restrictions and guidelines of specific individuals.\n \n\n Transporting and escorting individuals on recreational activities, medical appointments, home visits etc.\n \n\n Assisting people with making purchases, as well as safeguarding personal allowance funds and any additional funds provided\n \n\n \n\n Completes and maintains all necessary trainings based on program and position to ensure compliance with YAI policies and licensing regulations and applies skills.\n \n\n Reviews communication logs daily and makes entries of events, progress notes, services and/or information; collects and enters data as part of daily operations using an electronic health record.\n
