The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all operations are conducted in compliance with OSHA safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment, and managing risk on-site. <p>CDR Emergency Management Inc., is seeking qualified Safety Officers to join our team for a debris removal mission. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all operations are conducted in compliance with OSHA safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment, and managing risk on-site. This role is critical to overseeing safety protocols, hazard prevention, and training during this important emergency response mission. </p><p/><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety plans for the debris mission. </li><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and local safety regulations. </li><li>Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. </li><li>Train staff on safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and emergency response protocols. </li><li>Investigate safety incidents and near-misses, recommending corrective actions. </li><li>Maintain records of safety incidents, compliance certifications, and training. </li><li>Act as the primary contact for all safety-related concerns on-site. </li><li>Participate in developing the IAP regarding safety implications. </li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).</li><li>3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in environmental or waterway projects.</li><li>Strong understanding of federal and state safety regulations. </li><li>Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively train and manage teams. </li><li>Ability to work in challenging environments and respond swiftly to safety issues. </li></ul><p><strong>Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification</li><li>HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification </li><li>First Aid and CPR Certification</li><li>Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) (preferred)</li></ul><p/><p><em>CDR Emergency Management, inc., is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V and EO/AAN/D.
