  Overview/ Responsibilities: Asbestos/Environmental Monitor: <ul><li>A minimum of a (4) four-year degree in Environmental science, environmental engineering, or related environmental discipline.</li><li>A minimum of (2) two years of experience performing environmental field work and construction inspections.</li><li>4-hours of NYS Department of Environmental Conservation sponsored training in proper erosion and sediment control principles.</li><li>Familiarity with SWPPP inspections and producing SWPPP reports.</li><li>Experience with utility construction projects and applicable federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the project.</li><li>Ability to coordinate with multiple parties and communicate clearly to the contractor.</li><li>Experience/Knowledge in spill reporting to regulatory agencies.</li><li>Experience inspecting all construction activities, including clearing, access road improvements and installation’s structure removals, replacement structure installations, wire-stringing, installation and maintenance of temporary erosion controls, work involving wetlands, streams, agricultural lands.</li><li>Experience working in and around water and environmental monitoring compliance with permit conditions.</li><li>Experience inspecting and managing all environmental protection requirements.</li><li>Current waste training (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act [RCRA] hazardous waste and United States Department of Transportation [DOT] hazardous materials).</li><li>A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a NYSDOL certified Asbestos Project Monitor and Air Sampling Technician.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
